KENSEI YABUNO

Kensei Yabuno was born in, Japan 1975, studied Fine Art at Camberwell College of Art from 1996 to 1998 and is presently residing in Tokyo. Contributions of his artistic talent have been visible in domestic and internationally renowned publications such as idea, Vice, Dazed & Confused, Mixte magazine, Quotation,DUNE,spectator. Illustrations and supplying the cover artwork for Beck, won Kensei the coveted 2007 'Yellow Pencils' D & AD Prize and the D & AD Awards by Big Active Agency, thus also allowing Crue-l Records the position to also boast the use of his artwork. Collaborations have included the Comme des Garçons 2011 Women's Spring/Summer collection. A recent exhibition includes "WHY YOU" in HYSTERIC GLAMOUR.

Mr. Kensei Yabuno is active not only in the art scene but also in a wide range of fields, such as the cover artwork for BECK's album "The Information" and collaboration with <Comme des Garçons>. His representative work is a series with white hand-drawn patterns on a black background, but this time he provided us with a newly drawn work from Mr. Yabuno's painting series, which can be said to be a new frontier.
