About
loose joints
Cultural Platform From Over The Edge.
The roots of <loosejoints> come from the alternative magazine culture of the 90s.
We were born in an age where radical magazines and artists set and defined trends and culture in Tokyo, New York, London and Berlin. Today, when the world questions the existence of magazines, how do we feature the artists and art we love and have shared our lives with?
How do we express the fun of collaboration, the joy of owning something you love?
<loosejoints> will be reborn as a creative platform to once again share to the rest of the world.
It can be a T-shirt or artbook or some furniture; it doesn't matter, as long as we continue to loosely join the culture of then and now!
Keep this party going!!!
loose joints
A creative label and platform established in Tokyo in 2005 by editor Shun Sato.
From magazine editing, advertisement production, T-shirt labels, exhibition planning to CD and 12-inch record releases, he freely crosses media to produce and publish according to the time. His work in a wide range of fields and collaboration with artists with whom he has close ties, such as Tomoo Gokita, EYE (BOREDOMS), Naohiro Ukawa, ILLDOZER, SKATETHING, and WANTO, has earned him the acclaim of a dilettante.
After a sudden hiatus (being stoned…), it revived in January 2019.
<loosejoints> has its roots in culture magazines from the 90s.
Born in Tokyo, New York, London, and Berlin, a time when many exciting magazines and artists were driving culture together. And now the existence value of magazines is questioned. I want to deliver <loosejoints> as a creative platform to the world, the splendor of the works of my favorite artists who spent the same era, the fun of making things together, and the joy of owning them. T-shirts, tableware, furniture, collections of works, whatever shape is fine. We want to gently connect cultures with artists born in this era!
